RRC Group D Eligibility Criteria

To apply for the RRC Group D Posts, you must make sure that you are fulfilling all the eligibility criteria. First Thing that you will be judged on is your educational qualificatiopn and age, if you fulfil these two, you will be able to apply for the exam.

Age Criteria:

We have discussed above that age of a candiadte applying for the post should fall between 18-31 years (including both the ages)

You will be paid Rs. 18k (Level 1st to 7th CPC Pay Matrix) + TA, DA, HRA per month as per current rule.

Indian Railways is divided into four group that is Railway Group A, B, C and D. Let us understand all these groups in detail.
Railways invites applications according to the category in which you belong, and these are Railway Group A, B, C and D Jobs.

Let us discuss each group in detail to get a better and clear idea of it.
First, let’s talk about Group A
Group A posts are gazatted posts that comes directly in service from UPSC like IRES, IRPS,IREES. All the appointments to group A in Railways Department shall be made through the President on the recommedation of Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) from time to time in accordance with the rules framed by him.
These Recruitments are made through
1) Competition held by UPSC for the promotion of Group B officers to Group A.
2) By appointment of candidate initially recruited as Special Class Apprentices by UPSC for recruitment to Indian Railways Services of Mechanical Engineer.
3) By transfer of an officer in service of the Government.
4) By occasional admission of other qualified persons in consultation with UPSC.

Vacancies in Group B are also all gazatted posts, which are filled through the promotion of most eligible Group C employees by general manager. Selection board consists of 4 HODs, including CPO and HOD of the Department. In this 70% vacancies are filled on the basis of seniority and rest 30% are filled through selection test that we call as Limited Departmental Competitive Examination.

Indian Railways invites applications to its technical and non-technical posts from all the aspirants willing to serve in the railways department. Qualification for these posts are you must be 12th passed with minimum 50% marks or graduation.
